About the tattooed apologist
RB Boll, known as The Tattooed Apologist, is a voice for "tattooed" Christians in a world of noise and nuance. At 36, RB engages today's most pressing theological and cultural challenges with both the precision of a scholar and the passion of a man transformed. His work isn't about stirring controversy—it's about offering clarity where confusion reigns, tackling the complexities of doctrine, ethics, and public discourse with depth, honesty, and conviction.
In December 2021, RB’s life took an unexpected and devastating turn. What began as the worst day of his life—a federal arrest for a cannabis-related financial crime—became the doorway to something far greater. Accepting responsibility and a guilty plea, he lost nearly everything: lifelong friends, trusted clients, and multiple seven-figure businesses. But in that loss, RB discovered what he could never build on his own: the unshakable presence of God walking with him through the darkest valley (Psalm 23:4). What felt like the end became the beginning—a call to Christian apologetics and a life poured out for the Kingdom (Romans 8:28).
Today, RB holds three Master's degrees in Christian Apologetics, Ministry, and Financial Services, and completes a fourth Master's degree in Divinity in December 2025. He's planning to begin his PhD in Christian Apologetics in January 2026. He spends his time RVing across the country, chasing after five kiddos (and one on the way), investing in the people he loves, playing Pickleball, and helping others wrestle with faith, doubt, and the God who never leaves.
